A guest poem about self acceptance and the importance of finding it for yourself.

Self Acceptance

I want to love myself.
I look in the mirror
and all I see is something that
I know is different.
Different in the best way.

What if the energy of loving myself
creates hope for all?
This hope could open others hearts
to feeling beautiful and acting beautiful.

But what if it crushes their hope?
What if loving yourself becomes to hard
and you just fall apart from feeling deeply
that you can not become gorgeously stronger.

I look in the mirror and I feel different.
I look in the mirror
and I feel that being different is powerful.
I want you to look in the mirror
and absorb the beautiful power of being different.
It is hard to accept.
But once accepted you will bloom.

When you love yourself it shows.
When it shows,
people will feel it
and take in the love you are giving off.

Loving yourself for you is the hardest.
Loving yourself for others is exhausting.
What if I care so much about others
that I forget about me?
I am giving away all my love
and leaving nothing for me.

How can I conquer all these feelings?
Just stop and breathe and believe.
Believe that loving yourself will give you
power to exploit your difference
to give the world the help it needs.

You see, That is what loving yourself is all about.
Love yourself to help your heart feel stronger
and then,
Spread your strength to others
to make them finally feel their beauty
and believe that they are enough
and that they are never alone.

I want to love myself.
I finally found the strength to.
Now that I love me,
no one can ever break me.
I have hope that you will find this love too.
Accepting your differences
and loving them is
something you can always do.

About the Author of “Self Acceptance”

Self Acceptance

My name is Joelle and I am 19 years old. I first began writing when I was about 14. I stopped for a long period of time, but now I am ready to work at continually writing more pieces. The reason I write is not only to release very deep emotions that I hold inside, but also to give people hope that are never alone. I want others to read my writings and not only feel it deeply, but also to find themselves a new found peace. I want others to feel heard through my words.
